Privacy Policy
Effective September 26, 2026
The short version. Venuably has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking cookies. We collect only what you type into our forms, and we use it to keep listings accurate and to reply to you. We don't sell or share your personal information. You can ask us to see, fix or delete what you sent at any time.
Who we are
Venuably ("we," "us") runs venuably.com, a free guide that compares parks and party venues. This policy covers the website, including the same pages at venuably.netlify.app.
What we collect and why
Information you send us
We only receive personal information when you fill in one of our three forms:

With each form, Netlify also records your IP address, browser type and the page you sent it from, and Akismet uses these to check for spam. Please don't send sensitive information through these forms, such as ID numbers, payment details or health information.
Party planner settings, stored on your device
The party planner remembers your party details (number of kids and adults, hours, budget and whether you're an Encinitas resident) and your filter and sort choices. It saves these in your own browser's storage, under the name "venuably-party". They stay on your device and are never sent to us. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes them.
Technical information
Like any website, your browser sends standard technical information when you load a page: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for and the page that linked you. Our hosting provider, Netlify, uses this to deliver pages and protect the site, and may keep it in server logs. We don't use analytics, advertising or social media tools, and the site sets no cookies.
What becomes public
If you allow us to publish a photo, it appears on the listing with the credit name you gave, if any. We remove location and camera data from photos before publishing them. Business details that a venue sends, such as prices, packages, rules and photos, may appear on its listing. We never publish your email address, your phone number or the text of your messages.
Who else receives information
We share information only with the service providers that run the site, and only what they need:
- Netlify, Inc. hosts the website and stores form submissions and uploaded photos. See Netlify's privacy policy.
- Akismet, run by Automattic Inc., screens form submissions for spam on Netlify's behalf. See Automattic's privacy policy.
- OpenStreetMap Foundation. The maps on place pages and the map page load map images from OpenStreetMap's servers, which receive your IP address, the part of the map being shown and the fact that you're viewing it on Venuably. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
- Our email provider handles the email we exchange with you, and copies of form submissions if we have them sent to our inbox.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of Venuably, its users or others. If Venuably is reorganized, for example into a company or as part of a sale, this information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
We do not sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or give it to anyone for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
- Form submissions: until we've handled them and no longer need them. We review stored submissions at least once a year and delete old ones.
- Published photos: until you ask us to remove them, or the listing changes.
- Planner settings: on your device until you clear your browser's data for this site.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information you sent, or to take down a photo you gave us. Use the contact form. We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address you used, and we'll reply within 30 days. These choices are open to everyone, wherever you live.
Do Not Track and tracking by others
Venuably doesn't collect information about your activity over time or across other websites, and we don't allow advertising, analytics or social media trackers on our pages. Because we don't track you, "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals don't change how the site works. We don't allow other parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use Venuably. The service providers above receive technical information only to provide their services to us.
Children
Venuably is for adults planning outings and parties. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, tell us and we'll delete it. Please avoid sending photos in which people, especially children, can be recognized.
Security
The site uses HTTPS encryption. Form submissions are visible only to the people who run Venuably and to the service providers listed above. No website can promise perfect security, so please only send what the forms ask for.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date and a short note at the top of this page describing what changed.
