Terms of Use

These terms are the rules for using venuably.com. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What Venuably is

Venuably ("we," "us") is a free, independent guide that compares parks and party venues. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the City of Encinitas, California State Parks, or any venue we list. A "verified by venue" note means only that the venue confirmed its own details. Venue names belong to their owners. We don't take bookings or payments. You book directly with the venue or agency.

2. Prices, estimates and rules can change

We research fees, packages, capacities and rules from official sources and venue websites, and we show when we last checked them. Still, information changes and can contain mistakes.

  • Our estimates are our own calculations, not quotes or offers from the venue. They cover the venue only, unless a listing says otherwise.
  • Our summaries of park and permit rules are general information, not legal advice.
  • Always confirm prices, availability and rules with the venue or agency before you book or pay.

Your choice of venue and your event are your responsibility. We aren't responsible for venues, parks or events themselves, including their safety, availability, prices or conduct.

3. Corrections, claims and photos you send

When you use our forms, please be accurate and honest. You keep ownership of what you send.

  • Photos. Only send photos you took yourself or have the right to share. Please avoid photos in which people, especially children, can be recognized. If a photo does show recognizable people, you confirm you have their permission (a parent's or guardian's for children), and we may still choose not to publish it. By sending a photo and allowing us to publish it, you give Venuably a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, resize, crop, publish and display it on Venuably's website and apps, and in posts that promote the listing, with the credit you asked for, if any.
  • Taking a photo down. You can ask us to remove your photo at any time through the contact form. We'll take it off the site and stop any new uses.
  • Venue claims. If you claim a listing, you confirm that you work for or represent the venue and can speak for it.
  • Our decisions. We may edit submissions for accuracy, length or consistency, and we decide what to publish. We check corrections against official sources where they exist. Details a venue confirms may be shown as "verified by venue."

4. Using the site fairly

You're welcome to link to Venuably and share its pages. Please don't:

  • send false, misleading, abusive, defamatory or unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
  • send spam or harmful code, or try to disrupt or break into the site;
  • copy large parts of the directory or its data, including by scraping or other automated means, to build another product, without our written permission.

5. Our content and others'

The site's text, design, compiled listings and data, and the Venuably name and logo belong to Venuably. Photos belong to their creators and appear under the licenses or permissions shown on our photo credits page. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License.

6. Copyright concerns

If you believe something on Venuably infringes your copyright, contact us. Include the page, the work you own, how to reach you, and a statement that you own the work or are authorized to act for the owner. We'll review it and remove material that infringes.

7. Links to other websites

We link to venue, city and state websites so you can check sources and book. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

8. No warranties

Venuably is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including about accuracy, completeness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

9. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Venuably is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost money, deposits, bookings or events, arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its information. For any claim related to the site, our total liability is limited to $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

10. Changes

We may change the site or these terms. When we change the terms, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply.

11. Governing law and the rest

These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, except that either of us may use small claims court if the claim qualifies.

We may transfer Venuably and these terms to a company that takes over running it. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
